Training Coordinator - £24K - £28K pro rata (£16,800 per annum) + Benefits – Reading

Part Time – 24hrs pw, between 8am-5pm, office based role - Friday attendance mandatory

Are you an organised and proactive coordinator with a passion for supporting education and training? We’re looking for a Training Coordinator to play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our brand-new Technical Training Academy in Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in training coordination and administration, ideally within a school, college, or similar educational environment, who thrives on keeping things running behind the scenes and ensuring every detail is taken care of.

Our Technical Training Academy in Reading is a key part of our commitment to developing the next generation of skilled engineers for this specialist industry. You’ll be working alongside a dedicated team of technical trainers, assessors, and operational experts, all passionate about delivering high‑quality, hands‑on training that meets both industry standards and the needs of our valued clients.


What is the role?

As our Training Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our Technical Training Academy in Reading, as well as supporting the wider MCFT team. This is a varied and hands‑on position that requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.


Key Responsibilities

* Coordinating qualification certification requirements for our nationwide field team, ensuring courses are booked promptly and all qualifications remain up to date.
* Maintaining accurate records and databases to the highest standard, supporting compliance and reporting requirements.
* Arranging logistics for apprentices and staff, including accommodation, flights, and other travel needs.
* Managing our in‑house Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring content is up to date and supporting staff access and reporting.
* Uploading training schedules onto our online system Phoenix and keeping them up to date for apprentices and staff.
* Support the induction and onboarding of new staff and apprentices, including the apprenticeship compliance documentation for new starters.
* Liaising with manufacturers to coordinate technical training for our existing workforce.
* Supporting the day‑to‑day running of academy resources and facilities, including liaising with external suppliers (e.g., cleaners, maintenance) and ordering supplies as required.
* Supporting procurement processes in line with MCFT policy, raising POs and filing invoices.

We’re looking for a confident and capable Training Coordinator who can bring energy, organisation, and a proactive mindset to this pivotal role. You’ll be the go‑to person for keeping our training programmes and academy operations running smoothly, so attention to detail and a hands‑on attitude are a must.


The Ideal Candidate Will Be

* Professional and personable, with excellent communication skills, able to present themselves confidently both in person and on the phone.
* A natural problem‑solver, who can think on their feet and manage challenges with calmness and efficiency.
* Highly organised and detail‑focused, with the ability to juggle multiple training programmes, events, and tasks simultaneously.
* Proactive and self‑motivated, someone who takes ownership of their work, shows initiative, and can work independently as well as collaboratively.
* Positive and solution‑oriented, with a ‘can‑do’ attitude and a willingness to get involved wherever needed.
* A relationship builder, able to develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, training providers, and external stakeholders.
* IT‑literate, comfortable working with databases, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and a range of office software to maintain accurate records and streamline processes.
* Experienced in an education or training environment (preferred but not essential), with an understanding of the dynamics of coordinating training in a busy, fast‑paced setting.
