We have an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven Senior Business Development Manager to lead our growth across the UK&I Industrial and Commercial sector. In this high-impact role, you will aim to deliver annual revenues of £12–20 million and build a strong pipeline of over £100 million in unweighted opportunities for the following year, across our innovative energy solutions portfolio including CHP, solar, heat pumps, and more.
About the role:
* Design and implement strategic sales initiatives using frameworks like Miller Heiman to convert high-value industrial clients across the UK&I region.
* Achieve £12–20 million in annual revenue and develop a pipeline of approximately £100 million in decarbonisation solutions.
* Represent our brand at trade events, exhibitions, and webinars to increase visibility and credibility among industry decision-makers.
* Manage the CRM system: oversee sales tracking and forecasting in Salesforce to ensure KPI visibility and support insight-driven decisions.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Commercial, Projects, O&M, and Proposal Management teams to convert pipeline opportunities into value delivered.
* Lead the entire bid process, ensuring governance, opportunity assessment, and risk management at each stage.
* Oversee sales operations, including pipeline reporting, sector targeting, strategic forecasting, and process improvements.
* Translate market signals into actionable insights, advising leadership on competitor activities and customer trends.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
* Extensive experience in high-value B2B sales within the energy or sustainability sector, specifically selling CHP, solar, and heat pump solutions to I&C clients.
* Practical experience navigating complex stakeholder environments and managing opportunities from prospecting to close.
* Strong commercial acumen: comfortable with sales margins, IRR, NPV, and financing models such as PPA or EaaS.
* Knowledge of UK&I Net Zero policies, market trends, and regulatory frameworks.
* Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems, and familiarity with sales performance tools and dashboards.
* A consultative approach based on Miller Heiman or similar strategic selling methodologies.
* Effective communication skills and gravitas to influence stakeholders from factory floor to boardroom.
