Overview
Purchasing Assistant/Stock Controller – Yatton. Up to £28,000. Holiday, pension, Healthcare package.
The Role
You will be reporting to the purchasing supervisor and responsible for managing stock lines to ensure production availability.
* Monitor and manage stock levels to meet demand while minimizing costs.
* Use stock systems to order and ensure timely product availability.
* Conduct regular stock counts, resolve discrepancies, and reconcile inventory.
* Communicate with suppliers to track orders, resolve issues, and expedite urgent stock.
* Maintain accurate ERP item records, ensuring correct costing and sales prices.
* Handle customer returns, following proper return and credit processes.
* Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
* Resolve invoice queries and collaborate with forwarding agents and hauliers.
* Ensure accurate Bill of Materials for manufacturing, including tools and product configuration.
* Track and address slow-moving stock, recommend solutions, and improve processes.
* Prioritize daily system reports, collaborating with sales and production teams to meet goals.
* Oversee new product launches, ensuring stock availability and approval processes.
* Continuously evaluate reports, identify inefficiencies, and improve workflows.
The Candidate
* Experienced in inventory management and purchasing
* Working knowledge and experience of ERP/MRP systems
* Background in manufacturing/Engineering/Production
* Experience working with forecasting demand, supplier management, minimum order quantity, lead time
* Familiar with supply chain practices
* Great communicator
* IT literate (MS applications)
