Role Description
As a QC Associate Scientist, you will be responsible for performing laboratory-based quality control testing to ensure microbiological products meet internal standards. You will work in a regulated setting, applying scientific methods to verify product safety and performance. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues and contributes to continuous improvement efforts. Responsibilities
* Perform microbiological testing using established procedures
* Prepare culture media and manage laboratory supplies
* Record test results and deviations using digital systems
* Operate and maintain lab equipment, including autoclaves
* Support investigations into out-of-specification results
* Follow safety and quality protocols in the lab
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely product release
* Participate in process improvement initiatives
* Attend daily team meetings and contribute to performance tracking
* Maintain accurate training documentation and ensure compliance
Profile
* Bachelor's degree (Level 6) in Microbiology or related field, or equivalent experience
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Basic numerical skills and ability to follow instructions
* Good communication skills in English
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred
* Willingness to learn and adapt to technical processes
Employment Conditions
* Region: South England
* Salary: Approximately £20.07 per hour / £3,050 per month
* Working hours: 35 hours per week (Mon-Thu 08:00-16:00, Fri 08:00-14:30)
