Production Supervisor - Rail Overhaul Facility

Production Supervisor required to join the brand new State of the art Overhaul Facility in the Manchester area. This is a safety‑critical leadership role responsible for supervising technicians on the shop floor and ensuring the safe, efficient, and high‑quality overhaul of major rail components. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technician or hands‑on supervisor with a strong background in rail, heavy engineering, automotive, aerospace or similar industry and environment who enjoys leading people, driving standards, and delivering against challenging production targets. The Production Supervisor will lead a small team of technicians carrying out overhaul activities on major rail components.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and motivate a team of technicians to deliver overhaul activities safely, on time, and to quality standards
* Provide day‑to‑day supervision on the shop floor, allocating work in line with the production plan
* Ensure technicians are trained, competent, and working in accordance with work instructions, BOMs, and risk assessments
* Monitor performance, carry out competency assessments, and support individual development
* Support the Production Manager in achieving KPIs relating to output, quality, efficiency, and rework
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 or above in a relevant Electrical or Mechanical discipline - essential
* IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) - desirable
