The Role:\n\nOur esteemed client is seeking a skilled and motivated semi productive Workshop Manager / Senior Technician to lead a specialist vehicle workshop based on the outskirts of Southampton. This exciting dual role opportunity offers the chance to take charge of a state of the art workshop environment, manage a close knit team of technicians, and remain hands on with vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and performance upgrades.\n\nThe business specialises in prestige, high-performance, and enthusiast vehicles across modern & classic platforms, making this a unique role for a technician manager with a passion for engineering excellence.\n\nResponsibilities & Requirements of a Workshop Manager / Senior Technician:\n\nOversee day to day workshop operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and high service standards\n\nUndertake diagnostic, repair, and service work across a range of performance and classic vehicles\n\nManage workshop loading, job allocation, and technician productivity using DMS and scheduling systems\n\nLiaise with service advisors and customers to ensure clear communication of work requirements and progress\n\nMentor and support workshop technicians, including providing technical guidance and quality control\n\nManage parts ordering and stock control in collaboration with front-of-house staff\n\nEnsure all work is completed to manufacturer or higher standards, maintaining compliance with internal and external quality guidelines\n\nA valid UK driving licence is essential\n\nPrevious experience with performance marques, classic cars, or motorsport-related engineering is advantageous\n\nPackage:\n\nSalary: £48,000 basic per annum, plus fantastic company benefits.\n\nHours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM\n\nSaturday: Alternate Saturdays, 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM.\n\nOngoing investment in training, tools, and facilities, also a chance to work in a highly specialist automotive environment\n\nIf you're an experienced technician (diagnostics, senior, lead or Master) looking to step into a management role, with some exposure, or a workshop controller/manager seeking more hands on involvement – this is an ideal opportunity to combine leadership with your love for performance engineering.\n\nDon’t worry if your CV is out of date, please get in touch and we can work with you to do the rest.\n\nTo apply for this role as a Workshop Manager / Senior Technician and find out more details, please forward your CV to Josh Maitland at Silcom Recruitment
