Turning Tides recognise that people who experience multiple exclusions (multiple disadvantages) often face barriers accessing and establishing long-term productive relationships with support agencies. The successful candidate will work with people who are homeless and experiencing difficulties with substance use and mental health.


About the Role

To deputise for the manager and work alongside individuals who use Turning Tides’ services, by adopting a holistic and client led approach to help people recognise their strengths and achieve their ambitions. To promote self-advocacy and advocate on behalf of people (as appropriate) to ensure people’s dignity and rights are upheld and they can access and maintain the support they need, specifically around substance misuse.


About You

* Good knowledge of alcohol, drugs and issues around addiction and relapse management
* Good knowledge of mental health, personality disorders and dual diagnosis
* Good knowledge of welfare benefits, housing and homelessness law and policy
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Confidentiality
* Good knowledge of local support agencies
* Good knowledge of the benefits of Co-Production and lived experience
* Knowledge of substitute prescribing practices and understanding of rehab/detox /aftercare or a willingness to learn
* An understanding of assertive outreach and harm minimisation techniques
