Role: Lecturer - Hairdressing and Barbering
Location: Tresham College - Kettering and Corby Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary between £31,930 and £36,878 per annum (Pro-Rata if Part-Time) DOE and Qualifications, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Hairdressing and Barbering to join our Hair and Beauty department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Teaching & Student Development - Deliver high-quality Hairdressing and Barbering lessons across various levels, supporting students to achieve their full potential through engaging and inclusive teaching.
* Assessment & Progress Monitoring - Assess student work to awarding body standards, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records of progress, taking action to support student achievement.
* Curriculum & Resource Development - Contribute to curriculum innovation, develop engaging learning materials, and ensure learning environments are inclusive, diverse, and meet health and safety standards.
* Collaboration & Administration - Work with colleagues and support staff to enhance learning experiences, manage classroom behaviour, and complete administrative tasks such as registers and reports.
* Safeguarding & Professional Growth - Uphold responsibilities in safeguarding, equality, and health and safety, while actively engaging in CPD and training to stay current in industry and teaching practices.
About you:
* Qualifications & Industry Experience - Holds Level 3 Hairdressing and Level 2/3 Barbering qualifications, assessor and teaching credentials, with recent industry experience and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
* Teaching & Curriculum Skills - Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching, prepare lesson plans and schemes of work, track student progress, and manage behaviour across various levels and age groups.
* Professional Values & Teamwork - Demonstrates alignment with values such as Student Centred, Inclusive, and Educational Excellence, while contributing positively to team goals and respecting diverse perspectives.
* Communication & Organisation - Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate confidently across platforms and manage time and tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
* Safeguarding & Flexibility - Committed to safeguarding responsibilities, maintaining professional boundaries, and working flexibly across locations and schedules, with awareness of health and safety standards.
