About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled radiologist with a subspecialty interest in musculoskeletal imaging to join our dynamic team. Musculoskeletal radiology plays a crucial role in diagnosing and managing a wide range of bone, joint, and soft tissue conditions. We offer advanced diagnostic tools such as X‑rays, MRI, CT scans, and ultrasound to provide accurate imaging of the musculoskeletal system. These imaging techniques help in the detection of fractures, dislocations, arthritis, tumours, infections, and degenerative conditions like osteoarthritis. MRI is highly valuable for visualizing soft tissues such as muscles, ligaments and cartilage, offering detailed insights into injuries or abnormalities that might not be visible on standard X‑rays.
Our organisation is progressing and delivering care we’re proud of. We’ve opened two new theatres at our Elective Surgical Hub in King George Hospital and have been shortlisted for Trust of the Year at the Health Service Journal Awards. We operate from two main sites – King George Hospital in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford, with two busy emergency departments serving a diverse population. We are working to transform emergency care and provide extended diagnostic services via Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) at Barking Community Hospital and St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub.
Our CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing an additional 94,000 scans a year. Our staff of around 8,000 comes from 146 countries, and more than 400 are on Ofsted‑accredited apprenticeship programmes. We are proud to be a London Living Wage employer and are moving toward electronic patient records to benefit staff and patients.
