About The Role
As Senior Disrepair Officer, you will manage disrepair claims across all housing properties, minimise financial loss, ensure efficient, customer‑focused service delivery, and oversee the design, specification and monitoring of building and maintenance works.
Responsibilities
* Manage disrepair claims across all housing properties, minimising financial loss and ensuring efficient, customer‑focused service delivery.
* Oversee design, specification, and monitoring of building and maintenance works, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and best practice.
* Coordinate staff, contractors, and multiple teams to resolve disrepair within agreed timescales.
* Provide full architectural and contract administration services for structural works, disrepair, and home improvements.
* Act as an expert witness in court proceedings and liaise with legal teams on housing‑related cases.
What We’re Looking For
* Degree‑level qualification (or equivalent experience) in a building or construction discipline.
* Proven experience in architectural/building surveying and housing asset management.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, health & safety, and relevant legislation (including Landlord & Tenant Act, Homes Fit for Human Habitation Act).
* Ability to produce detailed CAD drawings and clear technical documentation.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
* Leadership experience with the ability to manage staff and contractors effectively.
