Job Title: Stock Controller (Maternity Cover – Fixed Term Contract)

Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 DOE

Reports To: Operations Manager
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Stock Controller to join our team on a maternity cover contract. This is a key role responsible for maintaining accurate stock records, managing inventory movements, and ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain processes. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and accurate deliveries, minimise stock discrepancies, and support overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Accurately process and input daily customer orders; verify despatch and goods receipt notes, and investigate any delivery discrepancies.
* Conduct weekly stock reconciliations and analyse stock movement reports to identify and resolve variances.
* Maintain optimal stock levels to support customer demand and prevent supply chain disruptions.
* Collaborate with the factory on production and shipment planning to meet scheduling requirements.
* Liaise with warehouse and logistics partners to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods.
* Act as the first point of contact for stock- and order-related queries from internal teams and external partners.
* Provide weekly inbound stock reports to the Operations Manager, ensuring clear visibility of inventory positions.
* Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
* Assist with general office administration and ad-hoc operational tasks as needed.
About You:
* Proven experience in inventory control, stock management, or a similar supply chain role.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
* Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively with internal departments and external partners.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with inventory/order management systems preferred.
