Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
We are seeking a qualified and accredited Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our integrated primary care mental health team at HMP Millsike. As a PWP, you will deliver high‑quality, low‑intensity cognitive‑behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression, in line with Step 2 IAPT guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct person‑centred assessments, manage referrals, and support individuals in self‑management and recovery journeys.
* Deliver guided self‑help in both 1:1 and group settings, drawing from CBT principles.
* Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, attending meetings and contributing to step‑up and step‑down arrangements.
* Ensure accurate data entry and maintain high standards in clinical record‑keeping, confidentiality and data protection.
* Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and stakeholders, upholding Rethink Mental Illness values.
General Duties
* Work within Prison Service policies and contribute to risk and public protection management.
* Subject to enhanced DBS disclosure and Home Office Prison clearance.
* Maintain data protection, health and safety compliance, professional registration and internal standards.
* Attend clinical/managerial supervision and provide performance review.
* Engage in continuous professional development and supervise peers as required.
Essential Qualifications
* Completed the IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and hold a PWP accreditation (BPS or BACP).
* Experience delivering evidence‑based low‑intensity interventions in a stepped‑care service.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and relevant database tools.
Desirable Qualifications
* Experience working in a prison setting or with offender populations.
* Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression or other common mental health problems.
* Experience with other therapy modalities relevant to psychological wellbeing practice.
* Background training in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or other psychological therapy disciplines.
