The main job role is to give housing advice about all available housing options and manage a caseload of homeless applications. To investigate claims of homelessness, potential homelessness and housing need. Arrange temporary housing when required and to assist people to secure suitable accommodation.
You will require 2+ years of relevant experienceworking in housing, social care and/or with people with disabilities in a relevant setting. You will also be expected to work 3-4 days in the office weekly.
DBS REQUIRED (MUST ALREADY HAVE)
INDEPENDENT TRANSPORT REQUIRED (FULL UK DRIVERS LICENCE)
Key Skills required:
IT literate, capable of using MS Word/Excel and Office packages.
You must have knowledge of housing issues and homelessness legislation and have an understanding of basic health and disability issues affecting suitability of housing and experience of liaising with a wide range of agencies.
The ability to carry out after hours on-call duty to deal with homeless emergencies.
Conduct casework and negotiations with applicants, landlords and others to prevent the loss of accommodation and/or to arrange planned moves where required.
You will also have to carry out home visits and basic inspections of property.
