An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with the experience and knowledge to deliver training and education within the Paediatric Critical Care Team. The experienced applicant will support the Critical Care Education and Training delivery for Paediatric Critical Care. The applicant is required to provide evidence of leadership in a clinical setting, possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all teams throughout Leeds Children's Hospital. Knowledge of national standards and policies and the ways in which these will influence nursing education in the future must be demonstrated. Evidence of working independently and presenting passion and creativity when planning and preparing training and education is essential. The role will involve delivering education in accordance with clinical standards, assisting in the planning, delivery and assessment of accredited Critical Care Courses with a focus on leading the L1 L2 ESCALATE course, managing risk in‑line with Leeds Children's Hospital operational targets to meet regulatory compliance through training and education. The applicant(s) will demonstrate the ability to create and sustain an innovative culture of education and learning in clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
The Leeds Children's Hospital is one of the UK's largest specialist children's hospitals that provides acute tertiary services for children and young people across the Yorkshire and Humber region. We host 27 medical and surgical specialties across our 16 inpatient wards in addition to our Paediatric Critical Care Service, Children's Medical and Surgical Day Case Unit, Children's Assessment Unit and Children's Outpatient Department. We are a specialist regional centre for liver and renal transplantation, complex children’s cancer treatment, neurosurgery and congenital cardiac surgery.
Job responsibilities
* Support Critical Care Education and Training delivery for Paediatric Critical Care.
* Provide evidence of leadership in a clinical setting and work collaboratively with all teams throughout Leeds Children's Hospital.
* Demonstrate knowledge of national standards and policies influencing nursing education.
* Plan, prepare and deliver training and education independently, with passion and creativity.
* Deliver education in accordance with clinical standards, assist in planning, delivery and assessment of accredited Critical Care Courses, focusing on leading the L1 L2 ESCALATE course.
* Manage risk in line with Leeds Children's Hospital operational targets to meet regulatory compliance through training and education.
* Create and sustain an innovative culture of education and learning in clinical practice.

* Hold an accredited L3 Critical Care Qualification.
* Possess excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Be able to work rostered clinical shifts on Paediatric Critical Care and have advanced skills and knowledge to care for Paediatric Critical Care patients.
