To support the provision and planning of specified commodities to Spirit AeroSystems and Spirit AeroSystems existing and future Suppliers through a Worldwide network of Vendors and Service Providers. This includes the forward planning of commodities to support new customers and projects. This role will also be required to maintain levels of provision to provide uninterrupted supply of commodities to Spirit's manufacturing supply base through acceptable levels of inventory, increasing or decreasing to support transfers or to reflect steady state.
• Manage the Material / Commodity Bill of Materials.
• Conduct impact analysis of changes to Stock / WIP, BOM, Commodity lead times and updates to Customer and Spirit build schedules. Plan and provide support for transfer packages and programmes.
• Work with the procurement buyers on a day to day basis, providing accurate and justifiable quantities and schedules while fully understanding all cost implications of the provision being made.
• Ensure that all provisioning activity is undertaken against an approved Budget via the appropriate financial and budgeting process.
• Provide data and reports as detailed by a Customer enablement contract.
• Maintain an awareness of any potential supply risks.
• Expedite backlog orders and production shortages / problems in a manner to ensure best possible support to protect Aircraft build programmes.
• Provide support, both to Internal and External Demand / Operational and Business reviews.
• Support the scheduled Spirit stock checks.
• Work within the Company procedures.
• Maintain a ‘can do' and pro active approach to continuous improvement and personal development
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Experience in procurement of supply chain management or graduate or studying toward NVQ SVQ in the appropriate discipline
• A level of interpersonal skills that allows communication both internal and external across the business
• Demonstrate a competent level of system knowledge of IT and business processes
• Demonstrate topical knowledge of industry best practice
• Using knowledge and experience to promote and process improvements
• Basic commercial and financial awareness
Decision Making Authority
• After development/training - will have responsibility for managing a commodity range and portfolio of suppliers in terms of material provisioning and demand management.
• Is responsible for conducting operational and demand reviews and highlighting areas of risk and opportunity.
• Will be accountable for raising sanctions to spend and ensuring commodity Bill of Material is topical.
• Decisions that impact strategy or general business activity must be authorised by manager.
