About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager Reporting, the Senior Income Officer will lead the delivery and maintenance of income accounting processes for rent, service charges, sundry income, tenant recharges and other collectable income. You will ensure that income transactions, adjustments, payments and rent debits are processed accurately and on time, supported by strong controls, reliable reconciliations and high-quality reporting.

This is a hybrid role and includes day-to-day supervision of the Income Officer. The post has responsibility for maintaining income of approximately £38m across the Bron Afon Group.

What you will be doing

  • Complete timely reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls across income systems and records.

  • Support rent uplift implementation and other annual income-related changes.

  • Provide accurate management information and reporting to support performance and decision-making.

  • Act as a key contact for customer and colleague queries relating to income accounting.

  • Supervise and support the Income Officer, helping to plan workloads and maintain service standards.

  • Contribute to service improvement, process development and the effective use of systems.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with strong experience of high-volume income processing, excellent reconciliation skills and a keen eye for detail. You will bring a good understanding of income accounting processes and controls, ideally within social housing or a similarly complex environment.

  • Experience of working with income accounting or housing systems to improve controls, accuracy and service delivery.

  • Strong understanding of rent and other income streams, and the operational requirements that support them.

  • Ability to prioritise workloads and deliver accurate work to regular deadlines.

  • Experience of supervising or coordinating the work of others.

  • Confidence using financial and business systems, spreadsheets and standard office software.

  • A collaborative and customer-focused approach, with strong communication skills.

  • A calm, organised and resilient style, with sound judgement and discretion.
