Southend-On-Sea's Children Young People And Family Public Health Service service are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner with initiative and drive. Our service delivers high quality public health nursing, that promotes and improves health inequalities to children, young people and their families in Southend-On-Sea. You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, be willing to facilitate and support change in service delivery, have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an integrated skill mix team.
Main duties of the job
You will work within a skill mix team, working closely withpartners, such as our Health Visitors, School Nurses, Schools, GPs and SocialCare, providing seamless care to the children, young people and families ofSouthend. You'll also have an important role in recognising and protectingvulnerable children as well as using innovative ways to communicate within theSouthend population.
The successful candidate will work within the Children Young People And Family Public Health Service, primarily in the 0-5 health visiting team ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality services to acaseload of babies, children and families, usingresearch-based evidence to inform practice with agreed professional standards.The post will require the nurse to travel between homes, schools, and communityhubs within the Southend area.

The post holder will lead the provision of a family centred,evidence based public health service that promotes and improves health andaddresses inequalities to a defined caseload, population or community.
This will be achieved through delivery of public healthnursing model at a community, universal reach, targeted response and specialistresponse level. The post holder will work in line with the Local Authoritys corporateobjectives and will be expected to make a positive contribution to theprovision of public health services. The post holder will be expected to workin line with the Southend City Council values and behaviours deliveringexcellent care with compassion.

Qualifications
Essential
1. First level registered nurse (Adult or Nurse Branch)
2. Current Full UK driving licence.
Experience

3. Evidence of utilising evidenced based practice and appraising standards, providing clinical direction and support for staff
4. Ability to apply clinical governance framework to clinical practice
5. Demonstrate leadership skills and understanding of professional responsibilities within the team
6. Demonstrate ability to facilitate others to develop service provision.
7. Ability to make sound clinical judgments and to work within a team and direct other team members to deliver high quality client care
Desirable
8. Demonstrable evidence of professional development
9. Demonstrable experience working with children of 0-5 years.
