The Role
We are looking for an experienced and detail‑driven Payroll Administrator to join our HR team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with UK payroll legislation.

Key Responsibilities
* Process weekly, fortnightly and/or monthly payrolls
* Accurately calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions and statutory payments
* Administer SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP
* Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements including PAYE, National Insurance and pensions
* Submit RTI returns accurately and on time
* Manage payroll elements for starters, leavers and employee changes
* Process payroll adjustments, back pay and salary changes
* Respond to payroll queries professionally and confidentially
* Work closely with HR and Finance to ensure accurate payroll data
* Reconcile payroll reports and support month‑end and year‑end activities
* Produce payslips, P45s, P60s and payroll reports
* Maintain payroll records in line with GDPR and company policies
* Support payroll audits and identify opportunities for process improvement
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Proven experience in a payroll administration role
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
* Experience using payroll systems (e.g. Sage, ADP, iTrent, IRIS or similar)
* Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical ability
* Ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities
* Strong communication skills with a high level of discretion and confidentiality
Desirable:
* CIPP qualification or working towards
* Experience with pensions and auto‑enrolment
* Knowledge of Time & Attendance systems
