Looking for a role where you can take real ownership of how a branch runs—keeping things organised, compliant, and running smoothly every day?

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to join Lords Builders Merchants at our Kings Langley branch. This is a hands‑on role at the heart of the site, supporting the team, strengthening processes, and making sure everything operates as it should.

You’ll work closely with the branch and senior leadership to tackle challenges, improve standards, and keep the operation performing at its best.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Supporting the day‑to‑day running of the branch and resolving operational issues
* Driving high standards in Health & Safety, reporting, and compliance
* Managing training records, refreshers, and CPC planning
* Monitoring audits, tracking actions, and ensuring follow‑through
* Supporting transport operations—fleet compliance, defects, MOTs, and KPIs
* Overseeing property maintenance and ensuring inspections are up to date
* Supporting stock control, layout, and operational efficiency across the site
* Working closely with leadership on continuous improvements


What We’re Looking For

* Strong operational experience within merchanting, logistics, or a similar environment
* Hands‑on, practical approach with a focus on getting things done
* Confident communicator who can support and guide colleagues on site
* Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
* Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
* A proactive problem‑solver who takes ownership

Hours: 7am-5pm Monday to Friday, 7am-12pm alternate Saturdays

Salary: Competitive
