The Position: The All-Age Nurse-Led Psychiatric Liaison Team (AANLPLT) is currently a new team being established in Orkney to complement the existing services delivery and several new additional posts are being advertised, substantially increasing the strength of the workforce, thus increasing the scope of the delivery of Mental Health Services to the population of Orkney An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, suitably experienced and qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (registered with the NMC) to become the Nurse Team Leader and take on the line management and clinical leadership role for the All-Age Nurse-Led Psychiatric Liaison Team. The post holder is required to co-ordinate the service, monitor clinical activity and be accountable for the effective and efficient use of available resources to meet the essential demands of the care of patients referred to the team, to monitor activity undertaken by nursing staff and monitor performance in relation to AANLPLT Key performance indicators and other Mental Health Service Key Performance Indicators. The post holder is also required to take part in the Out of Hours On call Rota Service with other Band 7 and Band 6 Orkney Mental Health Service registered mental health nurse colleagues. The Candidate: We are seeking an enthusiastic NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse who can evidence experience delivering high quality care, with strong, proven leadership skills to motivate and lead the development of a new team that is part of Mental Health Services in Orkney. You require to be able to demonstrate experience working in a clinical team with management and leadership responsibility at Band 6 level or above. You will be committed to working in collaboration with multi-agency colleagues to provide safe, effective and person-centred care for the population of Orkney. You should possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and organisational skills. You will be required to work unsocial hours, out of hours cover and weekend cover. Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration: This post will be based between Vaenta (the Mental Health Service Base) The successful candidate will work: 37 hours per week This post is Permanent and Full time It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.
