Overview
At University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust we want to recruit a number of Facilities Assistants to our Temporary Staffing Bureau to create a bank of temporary workers who are keen to work flexibly across Weston. As a Bank Facilities Assistant you will work within the Facilities team which provides an appropriate environment for patient care. Duties include general cleaning, the preparation and presentation of patients' meals and drinks, portering duties and working within our kitchens and cafe. You will be allocated duties from the key tasks listed below and will be expected to demonstrate a flexible attitude to work, to meet the needs of service delivery to the patients within Healthcare premises. Most of the shifts we have available are term time -please note that while the bank is flexible, the more availability that you have, the more shifts you will be able to work.
Responsibilities
* Cleaning
o Vacuuming and dusting
o Mopping floors
o Cleaning toilets and bathrooms
o Cleaning beds and re-making with clean linen
o Safely managing and collecting clinical and non-clinical waste
* Catering
o Cooking frozen meals and preparing food
o Recording temperatures of meals before serving
o Serving drinks to patients, serving meals when clinical staff are unavailable
o Clearing up after mealtimes and cleaning dining areas
o Collecting and delivering food trolleys throughout our hospitals
* Portering
o Transport patients between wards, departments and hospitals as instructed
o Deliver and collect mail, gifts and parcels from Wards and Department
o Distribute clean and collect soiled linen
o Receive and deliver stores from all Wards and Departments as directed
o Remove rubbish and clinical waste throughout the Hospital
o Deal with enquiries from patients, visitors and staff
* Training and shifts
o 4 full days of Induction
o Shifts in both cleaning, catering and portering to ensure you are competent
o Training shifts should be completed close together to support training compliance
