The Role
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services (MEP) team in Nottingham. You will play a key role in the design, coordination and delivery of electrical building services across a diverse portfolio of projects, supporting schemes from concept through to completion.
Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, BIM technicians and other disciplines to deliver high-quality, efficient and sustainable electrical designs.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms and data systems
* Produce design calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation
* Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, public health, structural and architectural teams
* Support project delivery across all stages, from concept through to detailed design and construction
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including BS 7671
* Work within a BIM environment, collaborating with technicians using Autodesk Revit
* Attend client and design team meetings, representing the electrical discipline
* Contribute to sustainable and low-carbon design strategies
* Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
* Assist in project planning, resource management and delivery to programme and budget
About You
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
* Proven experience in electrical design within a Building Services (MEP) consultancy environment
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and standards (e.g. BS 7671)
* Experience working across multiple project stages
* Ability to manage and deliver projects independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and client-facing skills
* Working towards or achieved Chartered status (e.g. via Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers or IET)
* Experience with BIM and coordination tools (e.g. Autodesk Revit)
* Knowledge of sustainable design and low-carbon technologies
* Experience within a multidisciplinary consultancy
