Renal Matron - Project Management of Capacity Expansion - 18 months

To line manage a team of Renal Medicine band 7's predominantly based at St Luke's Hospital and Skipton Hospital.

To oversee care at the St Luke's and Skipton in-centre Dialysis Units

To provide operational nursing leadership within the CSU of Specialist Medicine.

To project manage the expansion of in-centre Haemodialysis.

Person Specification


Experience

* Substantial management / leadership experience at senior nurse level in relevant clinical specialties. Current experience of working within an Acute Hospital setting.
* An understanding of Health Policy and its impact on the Professional Nursing Agenda and BTHFT.
* Experience of delivering service improvements with positive impacts on patient safety, experience, and quality of care.
* Evidence of developing nursing, research, and audit skills.
* Leading and developing a team.
* Experience in budget management, human resources, quality assurance, change management, complaints handling, policy implementation, and participation in Trust-wide initiatives/committee membership.
* Experience in large-scale stakeholder engagement work.


Skills

* Knowledge of quality standards, setting, and audit.
* Ability to lead a large team.
* Strong organizational, negotiating, team-building, and appraisal skills.
* Ability to manage change and work effectively under pressure.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accurate typing skills.
* Strategic thinking in business planning and service improvements.
* Ability to meet deadlines, maintain records, and undertake surveys or audits.
* Leadership and influencing skills to motivate teams and understand Trust expectations.
* Patient-centered approach and commitment to quality benchmarking.
* Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and flexibility.
* Commitment to openness, honesty, and integrity.
* Competence in root cause analysis and service improvement.


Knowledge

* Quality standards, benchmarking, audit, budget, and people management.
* Current issues in healthcare and nursing agenda.
* Clinical governance, IPC, Fundamentals of Care, and patient safety issues.
* Understanding of regulations and assessment methods by the CQC.


Qualifications

* First-level Registered Nurse.
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant environment.
* Post-registration qualification or robust CPD in relevant specialty.
* Recognized leadership qualification or equivalent experience.
* Commitment to continuous learning.
* Masters-level qualification or equivalent experience.
