Role: Optical Assistant
Location: Unit 725, Capability Green, Luton, LU1 3LU.
This role will be based within our Luton cluster, which involves working across multiple sites.
Hours: Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, working 4 days out of 6, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
Salary: £24,000

Responsibilities of the Optical Assistant:
* Adhere to the principles of clinical governance.
* Work alongside the optometrists in the day to day running of clinics carrying out the relevant diagnostics examinations.
* Assist in the running of pre and post-operative clinics for all patients.
* Act as theatre runner, escort in busy theatre environment.
* Be proficient in company database i.e medisoft
* Follow correct procedure for reporting any accidents or incidents.
* Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities, ensuring all equipment is checked and ready for use.
* Ensure the correct storage of all equipment.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures.
* Assist with stock control, ensuring realistic par levels are maintained and all items are readily available.
* Manages all the diagnostic and theatre equipment on a daily basis.
* To ensure patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with GPDR
