SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Church of England Setting) Temporary introduction via Teaching Personnel Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming Church of England primary school in the Wigan area to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to join the school on a permanent basis. This is a close-knit, values-led primary school with a strong emphasis on inclusion, nurture, and positive relationships. The school prides itself on providing a calm, structured environment where pupils feel safe, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. There will also be a number of CPD/training opportunities available for those seeking to further their development in school The Role: Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 and small-group basis Assisting children with a range of needs, including autism, speech and language, and social/emotional needs Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored support strategies Promoting positive behaviour, engagement, and independence Supporting pupils both in the classroom and during structured interventions The Ideal Educator Previous experience working with children with SEN (school-based or care/support settings considered) A calm, patient, and nurturing approach Confident in building positive relationships with pupils and staff Passionate about inclusion and supporting children’s development Available to work during the school day, term time Due to the training and CPD provided, prior experience is not essential.
