Location: London - Hybrid (Office 2 days per week)
Contract: Full-time, 7.4 hrs/day, 5 days/week
Start: ASAP | Duration: 4-5 months
Salary: Umbrella £37-£40.83ph
About the Role
A leading public sector organisation seeks an experienced Press Officer to join a fast‑paced press office supporting senior leadership. The role covers proactive and reactive media, events, briefings, and multi‑channel communications, including social and emerging content platforms.
Responsibilities
* Draft press releases, media quotes, briefings, op‑eds, and social content.
* Respond to high‑volume media enquiries and support events/photo opportunities.
* Advise on media strategy across policy areas.
* Maintain media relationships and contribute to media databases and channels.
Skills & Experience
* Proven press office experience, ideally in public sector communications.
* Strong writing skills and ability to work independently under pressure.
* Experience with London/national media; knowledge of non‑traditional media is a plus.
* Flexible for occasional out-of-hours events.
