Position: Nursery Assistant Scribbles Day Nursery Salary & Hours Hourly Rate: £14.00 per hour Qualification Required: NVQ Level 2 in Childcare (or equivalent) Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (shift pattern) Reporting To Scribbles Day Nursery Manager Location Scribbles Day Nursery 2527 Finwood Park Belfast BT9 6QR Role Summary The Nursery Assistant will work as part of a dedicated team, supporting the Unit Head in the day-to-day running of the room. The role involves providing high-quality care, learning, and development opportunities for children while ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and happiness. The post holder will undertake any reasonable duties that enhance the quality of care and learning within the nursery. Key Responsibilities Assist in the supervision, care, and wellbeing of children within the unit. Support the Unit Head in delivering age-appropriate activities and play programmes. Develop warm, secure relationships with children to encourage emotional, social, and personal development. Attend to childrens physical care, personal hygiene, and daily routines. Maintain confidentiality of information relating to children and families at all times. Participate in induction, training programmes, staff meetings, and supervision as required. Ensure high standards of hygiene, safety, and compliance with Health & Safety policies. Report any accidents or incidents involving children immediately to the Nursery Manager or Designated Officer. Prepare, maintain, and tidy rooms, materials, and equipment before and after sessions. Participate fully in the nurserys Key Worker system, including completing observations and records. Comply with Scribbles Day Nursery policies, procedures, and relevant legislation at all times. Undertake any additional duties as reasonably required by the Nursery Manager.
