The role
Alderman Bolton Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming Early Years Foundation Stage team. This is a fixed-term position until 31 August 2027 and offers thirty hours per week Monday to Friday. We are looking for someone who is passionate about giving young children the very best start to their education and who can contribute to the warm, nurturing and inclusive ethos that our school is proud of.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting high-quality Early Years provision. They will help to create a safe, engaging and stimulating environment where children feel confident to explore, learn and grow. Working with individuals and small groups, they will support early communication, social development, independence and emotional wellbeing. The role includes helping to deliver play-based learning, modelling activities, guiding children’s interactions, supporting behaviour in line with school expectations and contributing to observations and assessments that help move learning forward. The post also involves supporting personal care routines where needed, assisting with snack and mealtime tasks and helping to maintain an organised and high-quality indoor and outdoor learning environment.
Applicants must have a good standard of education, along with a recognised Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare or Early Years. Strong communication skills, a caring and patient manner and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. The candidate should either already have paediatric first aid and safeguarding training or be willing to complete these upon appointment.
