Permanent Teacher- Post Primary (LLW, Health & Social Care, Child Development and Public Services) – Education Authority (Northern Ireland).

Responsibilities
* 1) Planning and preparing courses and lessons; teaching according to pupils’ educational needs; setting and marking work; assessing, recording and reporting on pupil development, progress and attainment.
* 2) General duties: promoting the general progress and well‑being of pupils; providing advice and guidance to pupils on educational and social matters and future careers; maintaining appropriate records; communicating with parents and external bodies; participating in meetings.
* 3) Assessment/Reporting: contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references for individual pupils and groups.
* 4) Staff Development/Professional Development: participating in staff development schemes and performance review; reviewing teaching methods; pursuing further training and development; advising and cooperating with the Principal and colleagues on curriculum and pastoral arrangements.
* 5) Discipline/Health and Safety: maintaining good order and safeguarding pupils on and off school premises; participating in relevant meetings.
* 6) Public Examinations: assisting with preparation and examination procedures and supervision as required.
* 7) Review and Development of Management/Administration: contributing to staff appointments and development; coordinating work of teachers; participating in curriculum, pastoral and administrative tasks; managing resources and attending assemblies and registering pupils as required.
* 8) Hours and duties: complying with contractual hours, breaks, and related terms; availability for work 195 days per year with limits on classroom teaching hours; other duties as required by the employing authority.
* 9) Staff cover: assisting with pupil supervision when teachers are absent, within the terms of school policies and capacity.

Qualifications and Essential Criteria
* Qualifications/ Professional Membership: Hold a teaching qualification that meets requirements to teach in grant‑aided schools in Northern Ireland; hold a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification prepared to teach LLW and/or related subjects (Health and Social Care, Child Development and/or Public Services) as main or subsidiary subject.
* Experience: Demonstrable experience of teaching LLW & related Level 2 subjects at Key Stage 4 to achieve positive learning outcomes; experience using a range of teaching strategies; experience using digital media/technology to enhance teaching and learning.
* Other: Be registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) before taking up post; successful pre‑employment checks as required.
Qualifications and Essential Criteria (Interviews)
* Knowledge: Knowledge of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
* Skills/Abilities: Effective teaching and classroom management to inspire and challenge pupils; ability to raise achievement.
* Values Orientation: Demonstrated alignment with the school ethos and values as publicly stated on the school website.
Desirable Criteria
* One year or more demonstrable experience teaching Level 2 subjects at Key Stage 4; ability to contribute to extracurricular provision (Sport, Drama, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Scripture Union, Agriculture or similar) to enrich student experiences.
