Senior Projects Risk Engineer - Job Summary:
Booth Welsh are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Risk Engineer to lead risk assessment and ownership, and drive mitigation efforts across nuclear operations and projects.
We are looking for people either on contract or permanent basis - We can engage long term with people that have the correct background.
This role is critical in ensuring the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of nuclear facilities and systems.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in nuclear engineering, risk analysis methodologies, and regulatory frameworks.
Senior Projects Risk Engineer - Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee assessment & ownership of outage department risks, across all systems on station.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure risk-informed decision-making.
Provide expert input into the design, commissioning, and operation of nuclear systems.
Conduct hazard identification (HAZID), fault tree analysis (FTA), and event tree analysis (ETA).
Project manage risks & own solution development & deployment.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of internal risk management frameworks and tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, safety, and quality departments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's, or master's degree in an engineering discipline, or a related technical field.
7+ years of experience in engineering within the nuclear sector.
Accredited engineer or working towards a professional accreditation with an engineering institution.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with ALARP principles.
Ability to manage complex projects and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working with contractors and supply chain partners in a regulated environment.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
