About The Role

This placement focuses on delivering high‑quality, person‑centred complex care, supporting comfort, dignity, communication, and daily routines within the client's own home. It is a live‑in position providing continuous support in a well‑established and well‑supported care package.
Location
BN6 – a home‑based placement in a pleasant residential area with amenities within walking distance.
Client
The client is a gentleman diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (PPMS) 15 years ago. He is fully mentally capable but functionally paralysed from the neck down (quadriplegic), with limited head movement and a very weak voice. He uses an eye‑gaze machine for some communication. His wife lives with him in an adapted home that includes an accessible garden. He is supported by a strong network of friends, family and community transport for medical appointments.
Daily Support
* Full personal care
* 24/7 support for all activities of daily living
* Complex moving and handling (two carers required at all times)
* Communication support including eye‑gaze and non‑verbal methods
* Pressure care and regular repositioning
* Maintain a calm, reassuring, and respectful presence
* Ensure comfort, dignity, and emotional wellbeing
* Observe, record, and report any changes in health or presentation
* Maintain a clean, tidy, well‑organised home
Household
* Non‑smoking
* No pets
* The client lives with his wife in their adapted home with downstairs accommodation and an accessible garden.
* The client’s wife is very involved in his care and works closely with the care team.
Rota & Pay
Live‑in position – two live‑in carers on shift together at all times.
Pay Rate
£147.75 per day per live‑in carer.
Training & Support
Paragon is a specialist provider of complex and neurological care. You’ll receive full paid training before starting, plus ongoing 24/7 nurse‑led support.
