An exciting opportunity has become available within the Sexual and Reproductive Health Service for a Band 3 post that combines the roles ofHealthcare Support Worker and Administrative Officer, 15 hours per week, as required to meet the needs of the Service.


The post holder will be based at Penlan Clinic in Carmarthen and will be expected to also work at the Llanelli clinic on a regular basis and cover clinics in Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion as required.


Our friendly, hardworking Team offers a range of services including - contraception, management of Sexually transmitted infections and apregnancy advisory service.
Following training and assessment, as part of a plan of care, undertake delegated clinical interventions to include:


Health promotion advice and support
Obtain specimens for diagnostic analysis, e.g., Support patients during genital examinations and procedures including ultrasound scans and termination of pregnancy care / procedure

Duties will also include typing, scanning, photocopying and ordering office supplies.Promote and support the rights, responsibilities and diversity of individuals and their families/carers and relate with kindness and empathy to allconcerned.
Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Five community hospitals: Amman Valley Hospital and Llandovery Hospital in Carmarthenshire, Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire Hospital Health and Social Care Resource Centre in Pembrokeshire.


Two integrated care centres (Aberaeron and Cardigan, Ceredigion).
Community facilities, including:


48 General Practices (GP surgeries), 49 Dental Practices, 98 Community Pharmacies (chemists), 44 General Ophthalmic Practices (including eye health and low vision services), 38 sites providing mental health and learning disability services, care within your own homes


Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.

NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
Demonstrable office skills and knowledge
Knowledge of Medical/Healthcare Terminology
Experience of working in a Health and Social care environment
Demonstrable experience of working in an administrative / office environment
Familiar and competent with Microsoft IT packages, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Language skills
Welsh speaker (Level 1)
