HC-One – Head of Service (North Shields, England)
Full‑time position: 36 hours per week with flexible scheduling, including alternate weekend work.
About the Role
As Head of Service, you will oversee the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals for residents, manage kitchen operations, maintain food safety and hygiene standards, handle inventory, temperature control, equipment training and cleaning. Your primary focus is resident well‑being and kindness in every aspect of care.
Qualifications and Experience
• Kitchen experience and strong knowledge of the Food Safety Act 1990, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, RIDDOR and COSHH regulations.
• Excellent record‑keeping and organisational skills.
• Ability to follow recipes and support staff in food preparation.
• Genuine compassion and kindness when communicating with residents and colleagues.
