JOB DESCRIPTION
We have an opportunity for a Housing Assistant at our Extra Care Service in Totnes. You will join a dedicated team, working with the Extra Care Scheme Manager to deliver a high-quality housing management service that exceeds customer expectations.
This is a 12-month fixed-term part-time position (25 hours per week), working 5 hours daily, Monday to Friday. Exact working hours are to be agreed and will be between 9am and 5pm.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide advice on repairs, tenancy management, and rent queries, referring to specialist teams where required
* Communicate effectively with residents and signpost local services
* Respond promptly to and resolve complaints in line with agreed standards
* Liaise with contractors to minimise disruption and keep residents informed
* Work with internal and external teams to address concerns and support safeguarding requirements
* Carry out routine health and safety checks, including fire safety inspections, ensuring compliance with legislation

You will be a customer-focused professional with strong teamwork skills and an understanding of health and safety. You will be able to demonstrate:
* Experience delivering excellent customer service and acting on feedback
* Strong communication and collaboration skills
* Effective problem-solving and decision-making ability
* Good IT knowledge and administrative skills
