Duties
* Assist client with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and hoisting
* Administer medication following prescribed care plans and medical instructions
* Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
* Support clients with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
* Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
* Monitor and document changes in health status or behaviour for case management purposes
* Drive clients to appointments or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation
* Manage behaviour effectively through behaviour management techniques
* Assist with specialised care needs including Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care
* Follow health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
Skills
* Proven experience in nursing home, care home, or home care settings is highly desirable. However onsite training can be given
* Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
* Strong understanding of Alzheimer's, dementia, and hospice care practices
* Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards patients of all ages
* Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers
* Effective communication skills for working with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
* Valid driving licence for transporting clients safely to appointments or outings. not essential
* Familiarity with creating and following personalised care plans
* Capable of managing challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
* Basic first aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided if necessary
