Accounts Assistant

Salary: £26,000 - £28,000
Full Time, permanent 9am - 5pm
Reports to - Financial Controller
The Accounts Assistant will provide excellent support to the Financial Controller helping to ensure accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions. A very varied and busy role across the sales and purchase ledger; working with spreadsheets to manage and organise the data. The role requires a confident self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills who can work effectively across all areas of the business, including with customers and suppliers. This role requires a high attention to detail, accompanied by the ability to multi-task and manage day to day workload effectively.
Responsibilities
* Purchase Ledger
o Processing purchase invoices and querying any discrepancies - both internally and externally in a timely and accurate manner
o Reconcile supplier statements to accounts system
o Resolving supplier queries and assisting with supplier payment runs
* Sales Ledger
o Invoicing customers in a timely manner
o Resolving queries with assistance from other departments
o Sending customer statements
o Raising of accounts receivable invoices/credit notes
o Uploading customer invoices via external software package
* Credit Control
o Daily posting of incoming receipts
o Taking card payments
o Following up on outstanding balances to ensure prompt collections
o Ensuring all accounts are monitored and placed on hold where appropriate
o Maintain accurate ledgers - Sales and Purchase
o Assist with accounts ad-hoc duties as required and support the FC
o Manage accounts inboxes and answering any queries
o Manage any incoming post
o Maintain complete confidentiality with respect to all information regarding the business affairs of the company

* Confident using Excel

* Confident Communicator
