Join to apply for the Crisis Practitioner Mental Health - North West Crisis role at NHS Scotland.

This post is based within the North West area of Glasgow. It is a full-time post of 37 hours per week, and it is a 7 day service with shifts of 9-5 or 12-8. It is essential you are an NMC registered Mental Health Nurse.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.


Responsibilities

* Provide rapid, specialist mental health and risk assessment for individuals experiencing acute mental health crisis.
* Develop and monitor robust treatment plans and work to offer safe community-based care as an alternative to hospital admission when appropriate.
* Support efforts to minimise length of stay in acute inpatient settings by facilitating home passes or discharge where clinical risk can be managed within the community.
* Collaborate with inpatient staff and the four Community Mental Health Teams to identify care needs that can be met in the community.
* Liaise with key stakeholders including carers, inpatient services, Community Mental Health Teams, social work and third sector agencies.


Qualifications and Skills

* NMC registered Mental Health Nurse (essential).
* Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
