A Caretaker is required for an immediate start to support a local school in Ballymena. The hours of work will be from Monday to Friday, either 9am to 5pm or 8am to 4pm. This is a temporary position offering a pay rate starting at £12.71 per hour, with an increase considered depending on experience. The role will involve supporting the day-to-day operation of the school premises, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for staff, pupils, and visitors. The main duties of this role may include: Assisting the Buildings Supervisor with the general maintenance and upkeep of the school buildings and surrounding grounds. Carrying out minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks, as required. Supporting the Busar with on-site supervision of the premises, including opening and closing the building. Providing assistance with security duties, ensuring the premises are safe and secure at all times. Helping to prepare rooms and facilities for classes, meetings, and school events. Monitoring the condition of the premises and reporting any faults or issues promptly. Working as part of a team to support the smooth running of the school and its daily activities. What We Need From You Essential Criteria: Practical DIY skills to carry out minor repairs. Good organisational skills. Successful candidate will be required to undertake an Access NI before commencement of role Desirable Criteria: Experience in a similar role. Experience liaising with contractors.
