As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer you will turn university learning into real‑world impact, tackling complex engineering problems that make a difference.
You’ll work across a variety of industries, from Defence, Energy, Nuclear Clean‑up to Advanced Technology. Every project brings new challenges – design of mechanical and remote handling equipment, application of thermodynamics, new piping and vessel design for pressure systems – building the skills that define your engineering future.
From day one you will play an active role in projects that span the full life‑cycle – research, optioneering, design, analysis, testing and commissioning. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, learning to integrate ideas across specialisms to deliver safe, innovative and effective solutions.

We are looking for candidates who:
* Have completed an undergraduate or master’s degree (e.g. mechanical engineering or equivalent) by summer 2026.

* Strong Communication – able to engage technical and non‑technical personnel clearly and confidently.
* Problem solver with attention to detail and interest in mechanical systems.
* Team player who can also work independently.
* Organisation & Time Management – juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

* Understanding of digital platforms that can be applied to solve engineering problems is beneficial.
You must be:

Our Graduate Programme assumes participants commence their first professional role post‑graduation. To qualify you must:
* Completed your first degree no earlier than summer 2024.
* Not worked in a similar professional role since graduation.
* Achieved a minimum 2:2 in your first degree.
Selection Process
1. Apply Online.
2. Successful candidates complete an online assessment.
3. Selected candidates are invited to a final face‑to‑face interview with our operations teams.
4. Successful candidates are offered a place in the Amentum Graduate Programme in September 2026.
We will close the application window on 31st January 2026, but we reserve the right to close the role sooner if we receive the required number of applications.
