Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable provider of semi-independent accommodation services supporting vulnerable young people aged 16-21 in Guildford.
Our client is seeking passionate and dedicated Support Workers to work in their supported accommodation service. The role focuses on preparing young people for independent living after the age of 18, providing practical and emotional support within a safe and structured environment.
Responsibilities
* Support young people with essential life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and maintaining personal hygiene.
* Accompany and assist young people to attend health, education, and other vital appointments.
* Safeguard the welfare of young people and respond effectively to any concerns.
* Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, some of whom may display challenging behaviours.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Health & Social Care sector.
* QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children) OR willingness to achieve this qualification within the required timeframe.
* Enhanced DBS check (clean and valid).
* Full UK Driving Licence – owning a car essential
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Organised, patient, and self-motivated with excellent time management.
* Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and independently where required.
