Overview
Personal Assistant for gentleman PT @ £13.00/hr in Leeds. Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: 96d3f003
I am in my 40s with autism and have a learning disability. I love life and enjoy living in my own home. I would like someone to work with me to help me remain independent.
I need help to manage finances and bills, read material and interpret most written information. I need prompts to maintain my self care and assistance as necessary, for example to take me to the barbers. I need prompts to keep my property clean and tidy and assistance as necessary, e.g. cleaning. I need a lot of help to manage my laundry, including organizing loads of washing/drying and taking items to and from a laundrette. I need help to ensure laundry is dry and put away in the right place. I need assistance to help engage in events and activities and to help me get to and from events. I need assistance with a weekly shopping budget and controlling spending when food shopping, prompting to select healthy options and ensure I have enough food for the week. I needs assistance to put away shopping and manage sell by dates and food hygiene. I need assistance to help me communicate verbally over the phone and in person when there is an issue, for example a problem with my phone bill. I need help to keep safe on line forms and writing and reading emails/letters. I need help with managing cooking, knowing the cooking time and heat temperature. To meet my needs, I need someone with excellent communication skills who understands my autism which means I can say things on rote or say things I think people need to hear. I need someone who is good at using strategies to help say the right words for me. I would like someone to help me on Monday, Tuesday all day and again on Thursday from 3pm and Friday from 3pm. Weekends are also a possibility as I would like some assistance to go to the pictures or dancing in the evening. There is also scope to do more hours with me when I have holidays from work, when I have a full week free. I could also do any weekday evening for going out, not only weekends. My favourite things to do are the cinema, dancing, live music and theatre. I enjoy sharing a meal and coffee with people and going walking. My least favourite thing is sport.
