Department: Legal - Legal Counsel Location: UK/Basingstoke Description This unique position is all about relationships and providing full legal support to the Company. The role is highly varied, dynamic and works closely with the global business teams and customers. As Assistant General Counsel: Flooid, you will be responsible for providing both strategic and operational legal support within Flooid with the support of an internationally recognised legal team. Your role will involve providing legal advice, guidance and education to the Company and working closely with the General Counsel: EMEA and the Sales and Account Executives to ensure effective negotiation of contracts and the onboarding of new business. You will need to be both commercial and pragmatic, with the ability to take a holistic view of the business. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This is a full-time salaried position. The nature of the role is such that significant visibility in the office is essential, so the successful applicant will be expected to be in the office near Birmingham International two to three days a week (hybrid) Limited travel may be required. Key Responsibilities Alignment of the Company’s legal strategy and acting as an ambassador of the business in all interactions, working alongside the wider legal teams within the Glory Group. Acting as a legal point of contact for the EMEA Sales and Accounts executive. Providing accurate, relevant, and timely advice to the business on a wide range of legal and business matters. Providing support and education for the implementation of the Group’s contract lifecycle management system to ensure fast, efficient contracting through workflow automation. Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the business. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts/agreements relating to customers and third parties as well as support of RFP’s and other complex matters. Supporting the drafting and implementation of Company policies. Taking a key supporting role in governance and compliance activities e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001, ISO9001, and keeping abreast of legislative changes that may affect the Company. Supporting the Supplier Management team with onboarding of suppliers e.g. negotiating contracts, providing supporting documentation. Supporting work relating to the placement of corporate insurances e.g. Professional Indemnity, working closely with industry professionals to help assess risk and ensure the business is adequately protected. Ensuring the Company’s trademark portfolio is maintained and liaising with third parties as appropriate. Providing first line support to the global HR team on employment matters. Strong licensing experience and an interest in software in general. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Qualified solicitor and admitted to practice law in the United Kingdom. Relevant in-house or industry experience. Experience reviewing and negotiating Master Agreements, Statements of Work, Change Requests, Professional Services Agreements, SaaS, and Subscription Agreements. Previous exposure to multi-jurisdictional and cross-border international contracts is beneficial. Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic in-house IT environment. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills. Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
