Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager (Building) to join our Estates Team at HMP Glenochil. The successful candidate will lead a team of Maintenance Engineers and Operatives, managing the maintenance team workload through our computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to ensure the estate complies with statutory regulations and service level agreements.
The role involves planning and directing Engineers and Operatives to carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) building and fire compliance meeting locking policy and spare key safe management. Additionally, the Technical Manager will plan and monitor local and national contracts, including procurement responsibilities for Local contracts.
About You
* You must have served a recognised apprenticeship and obtained a qualification in a relevant building related discipline such as Carpentry & Joinery to a minimum of SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
* An HNC in an engineering subject is desirable.
* You should have experience of building maintenance and repair work in meeting fire and locking compliance, and also be willing to develop new skills in mechanical and building maintenance.
* Evidence of your excellent organisational skills, demonstrating your ability to prioritise, forward plan and manage competing demands to ensure outputs are delivered on time.
* You must have sound knowledge of relevant legislation including Health & Safety, Safe Systems of Work, Building and work to locking policy and spare key safe management.
* Evidence of your excellent problem-solving skills and your ability to provide practical and creative solutions to a range of resourcing and technical issues.
