Grade F £31,022 to £34,434 per annum

Contract Fixed Term Contract for 2 years

Role specifics A minimum 2:2 honours degree in any subject.

The Role

Start your career where you can make a real difference; the Bolton Council Graduate Programme offers talented and motivated recent graduates the opportunity to launch a career in public services, whilst giving you the opportunity to gain practical experience, build professional skills and support real change across Bolton.


As a part of the Age Well Commissioning Team you will be work alongside senior leaders to support effective commissioning, procurement and service design that improves outcomes for older residents who require social care services in Bolton.


What you’ll be doing


You will work on projects which contribute to wider service plans to ensure the department operates efficiently and effectively, developing strategies to support evidence-based commissioning and procurement, as well as monitoring services to ensure they meet key outcomes and quality standards.


Whilst with us you will gain on-the-job experience with expert support from you manager and supervisors and a team of colleagues committed to helping you succeed. You will attend our in-house IoL Accredited Leadership and Management Programme Level 3 and 5 and have access to Bolton Council Coaching and Mentoring for Managers training.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and capable graduate to join our team.


The ideal candidate will be a recent graduate who holds a minimum 2:2 honours degree in any subject, someone who lives in the borough of Bolton (BL Postcode). You will be enthusiastic and adaptable and able to demonstrate a strong commitment to working to improve the borough of Bolton.


The successful candidate will quickly take on responsibility for projects that will make a real contribution towards the impact and efficiency of local public services, including contributing to our work supporting local communities, organisations and businesses.
