Senior Practitioner – Family Safeguarding Salary: £42,839 + £6,443 market-enhanced payment, progressing to £47,181 + £6,279; plus £1,000 welcome payment Contract: Permanent About the Team: Senior Practitioners join Hertfordshire’s multi-disciplinary Family Safeguarding Teams, working alongside adult-specialist practitioners from substance misuse, mental health and domestic abuse. The model emphasises motivational interviewing, shared decision-making, and reflective group supervision. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a protected caseload of complex cases. Provide professional supervision, mentoring and consultation to social workers and practitioners. Oversee assessments, enquiries, court work, and child protection interventions. Promote and embed strengths-based, motivational interviewing practice within the team. Support service development, quality improvement, and reflective learning.Person Specification: Social Worker registered with Social Work England. Several years’ post-qualifying experience (ideally in safeguarding, assessment, or care proceedings). Leadership and decision-making skills, with experience of managing risk.
