Looked After Children's - Social Worker

You would be based within the Looked After Children's team in Wrexham. Within the team, there is a Court Pod working specifically with children and families through court proceedings. We are recruiting experienced Social Workers to manage an allocated caseload of up to 6 families involved in court proceedings, including high complexity and high-risk cases such as child protection, care and support, deprivation of liberty, court-ordered cases, and school attendance issues.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Managing and making decisions on cases, including assessments and care/support plans.
2. Designing and implementing plans such as education plans and coordinating external support within budget.
3. Working in partnership with other services to optimize resource use.
4. Applying social work techniques to meet individual needs, supporting children at risk, and safeguarding welfare.
5. Responding to immediate risks, undertaking assessments, and planning crisis responses.
6. Supervising, mentoring, and supporting team colleagues, social work students, and new social workers.
7. Making decisions in the best interest of individuals, including conducting best interest assessments, preparing court reports, and attending court proceedings.
This role requires office presence twice a week, access to a vehicle for visits, and participation in a duty rota system. Supportive management and regular supervision are provided.

* A relevant Social Work qualification
* Registration with Social Care Wales
* An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply
* At least 3 years of referencing
* A driving license and access to a vehicle
