A vacancy has arisen for an Assistant Practitioner in the Walsall ESD/Community Stroke Team/bed based service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with an interest in stroke to join our excellent established interdisciplinary team. The team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Specialist Nurses, clerical officers, and Assistant Practitioners. The team is based in Willenhall and works in the borough of Walsall.

The successful candidate will assist in the rehabilitation of patients post-stroke in their own homes, clinics, or bed-based services. They will facilitate client participation in their treatment and rehabilitation programs for Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Nursing in various domiciliary settings. They will support the team with data collection and audits to continually improve the service. The role includes organizing, prioritizing, and planning their own workload to meet client and service priorities.

It provides inpatient and outpatient services at the Manor Hospital, along with a wide range of community services. The hospital features state-of-the-art facilities, including a Critical Care Unit, Neonatal Unit, Obstetric Theatre, and an Integrated Assessment Unit. A new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre, opened in March 2023, has enhanced emergency care facilities and capacity.
