Job Title: Laser Setter & Operator
Location: West MidlandsJob Type: Full-Time (Permanent)Salary: £14.00 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)Shift Pattern (Rotating Weekly):
* Morning Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
* Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm - 11:30pm, Friday 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Laser Setter & Operator to join a well-established and growing precision sheet metal manufacturing business. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and maintaining laser cutting machinery to produce high-quality components for a diverse customer base.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in laser operations who is looking to develop their skills within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines efficiently and safely
* Load programs and materials in accordance with production requirements
* Adjust machine parameters to ensure optimal cutting performance and quality
* Interpret and work from engineering drawings and job specifications
* Carry out routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of machinery
* Perform quality checks to ensure products meet required tolerances and standards
* Maintain accurate production records and documentation
* Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales and targets
* Adhere to all health & safety procedures at all times
* Keep work area clean, organised, and compliant with company standards
Skills & Experience Required
* Previous experience setting and operating laser cutting machines (e.g. Trumpf, Bystronic, or similar)
* Ability to read and understand technical/engineering drawings
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
* Experience working with sheet metal in a manufacturing environment
* Flexible approach to work and willingness to work rotating shifts
* Good communication and teamwork skills
