Payroll Coordinator

About the role
Are you ready to take the next step in your payroll career? We’re looking for a Payroll Co-ordinator to join our friendly and fast-paced team, supporting the payroll processing for over 10,000 colleagues across our Support Office, Stores, and Distribution Centre.
You’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely payroll, handling complex calculations, and supporting your peers with coaching and guidance. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills, work collaboratively, and make a real impact in a business that puts people first.
What you’ll be doing
1. Processing end-to-end payroll on a four-weekly cycle
2. Managing overpayments, statutory entitlements, and manual calculations
3. Supporting RTI submissions and end-of-period reconciliations
4. Handling P45s, new starter checklists, and third-party payments
5. Ensuring compliance with NMW and payroll legislation
6. Collaborating with Payroll Advisors to coach and support Payroll Assistants
7. Acting as a first point of contact for complex payroll queries
8. Producing business reports and maintaining efficient processes
What we’re looking for
Essential:
9. Experience in office-based payroll administration
10. High attention to detail and accuracy
11. Strong written and verbal communication skills
12. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
13. Trustworthy and confident handling confidential data
Desirable:
14. CIPP Payroll Technician qualification (preferred but not essential)
15. Knowledge of current payroll legislation
16. Experience with SAP payroll systems
