Senior Project Manager

Wotton under Edge

Up to £48,000 depending on experience

EPD designs and supplies cutting-edge position feedback technology to the world’s precision measurement, automation, and manufacturing industries, it is made up of engineers, scientists and technicians all working together to produce market leading products for sale around the world.

Working closely with colleagues in our manufacturing division, we develop manufacturing and assembly processes and software to deliver quality products by the hundreds of thousands that in turn, perform reliably and repeatedly to sub-micron accuracies for our customers.

Renishaw’s Encoder Products Division (EPD) is looking for a Senior Project Manager to support the Current Products and Specials team. This role is suitable for an experienced Project Manager or someone with significant relevant experience in a related role. The successful candidate will manage current products maintenance and special product development projects and will support technical teams with planning, progress chasing and document management.

Responsibilities

1. Project Manage activities in the Current Products team

Manage and schedule change

Co-ordinate resources

Agree objectives, create and manage plans

Create and maintain accurate project documentation

Communicate across affected divisions and teams

Agree customer requirements for special products

Manage special products manufacture and delivery

2. Coordinating and facilitating design changes through the corporate change process, creating and managing product change notices and product change plans

3. Managing the impact of design changes by identifying all parts, assemblies and stakeholders that are affected and communicating appropriately

4. Ensuring data in technical and commercial databases is current and accurate

5. Ensuring compliance with Renishaw and legal standards

6. Liaising with other teams in support of Current Products activities

Key requirements

7. A Degree or HND in an engineering or scientific discipline, or the ability to demonstrate comparable applied knowledge and expertise

8. ~ 3yrs experience in a Project Management role or related discipline

9. Good communication and interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to “get on with people” and to work as part of a team

10. Good technical awareness and understanding of design functions and engineering change processes

11. Good computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft O365 applications

12. An awareness of MRP/ERP and experience of design change control processes

13. Ability to work without close supervision

14. Excellent planning skills, able to complete tasks on time effectively prioritise work

15. A willingness to adapt and create new processes to maximise efficiency of work

Desirable requirements

16. Experience with Renishaw products and toolsets

17. Understanding of metrology and optical measurement technology

18. Problem solving experience

19. Experience with working with remote team members

20. Knowledge and understanding of the Syteline CCAR system

21. Understanding of encoder production processes

22. Understanding of technical drawings

Person specification

The successful candidate will have a high level of self-motivation and be a team player, with a positive attitude to problem solving. They will be pro-active, a completer, highly organised and flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the day to day project environment. They should be driven to meet deadlines and achieve targets.
